Women in Design and Environmental Professions

May 9-10, 2013 Hyatt Regency Hotel Cambridge, MA

Why have a conference focused on women in the design and environmental industry?

According to our 2013 Principals, Partners & Owners Survey, 78 percent of principals are male and 50 percent of respondents don't believe there is a lack of diversity at the principal level. Likewise, our 2012 Project Management Survey reports that a staggering 90 percent of project managers are male. Even among our Best Firms To Work For, 70 percent of participants in the employee survey are male. We can deduce from these numbers that the industry, even in the 21st Century, is still male-dominated – particularly at the leadership levels.

Women in Design + Environmental Professions is a conference focused on gender issues in the male-dominated design and environmental professions that will explore ways to leverage talent in a gender-neutral environment to help individual firms achieve greater success and improve the future for our industry. This  multi-day event will include roundtable discussions, focus groups, networking sessions, as well as keynote presentations by industry leaders.

Topics to be covered include:

  • Effective Communication
  • Work/Life Balance
