Ethics is one of those intangible aspects that colleagues and clients hold important when doing business with firms and its consultants. This also includes dealings with the government, most especially with contracts and government work.
In this web event, Sam Schwartz, P.E, President and CEO of Sam Schwartz Engineering, talks about what ethics for consultants really mean. He also discusses how government agencies have a lot of rules describing what is permissible and what is not. As he talks about these, he highlights them with different case rulings and laws that apply.
We have seen time and again the destructive effects that happen when the leadership of a company together with its employees and other persons that it contracts and extends its services to does not behave in an ethical manner. A business that behaves ethically induces other business associates to behave in the same manner.
There are rewards to firms that make sure their business and dealings are done in a careful, ethical manner. Employees are motivated, productive and continuously loyal to the firm. Customers are content, happy and thus, continue to keep business with you. But what if you extend your services through consultants and the government? Are they covered as well? How to do you ethically deal with the government when you have projects with them?
