The U.S. environmental industry grew 6.2% in 2006, its third consecutive year of over 5% growth. The environmental industry amounted to $282.1 billion in revenues in 2006 for the roughly 30,000 private companies and at least twice as many public sector entities in the business of selling environmental services, equipment, or resources.
