Rethink & Reinvent: The Possibilities of Building Information Modeling & Integrated Project Delivery

With Bret Tushaus, Director of Information Technology, Eppstein Uhen Architects (EUA)

The construction industry must evolve in search of new and improved ways to deliver projects safer, better, faster and cheaper. By combining the technology-enabled tools of Building Information Modeling (BIM) with a more integrated and collaborative approach to project delivery such improvements are more possible than ever before.

Full Description

Consumers of capital construction projects are raising their expectations and want projects that are delivered safer, better, faster and cheaper. In addition, the economy is squeezing the margins for AEC firms and as a result design teams need to do more with less to maintain a competitive advantage and financial success. The concepts, tools and techniques that surround the world of BIM and IPD are exactly what is needed to meet these new industry demands and allow firms to thrive in a more challenging economy.

Topics include:

  • Why we are where we are – the momentum of BIM and IPD in recent years
  • The essence of IPD – why is IPD relevant, what does it really mean and how can my firm benefit?
  • The “big ideas” of BIM and how they can be applied to real world projects
  • Case studies: The relevant BIM related tools and techniques along with a more collaborative approach to delivery played out in real world projects
  • Where the momentum surrounding these topics is taking us
  • How to get your firm on board and become part of the rethinking, reinventing & reevaluating
